Self conscious about your hairline? I’ve been there myself pal.

Being self conscious about your hairline is no laughing matter, but what can you do about it?

Feeling self conscious about your hairline can not only be demoralizing, but for many men it can be a total preoccupation that affects all aspects of their lives, which is no way to live. I’ve been there, I know or at least it was for me. Getting over feeling self consciousness about your hairline means first acknowledging it, then taking the appropriate steps to either save it, or shave it. Let’s look into what each means and which path you should choose to get over your self consciousness about your hairline once and for all.

How being insecure about your hairline and self-conscious about your bald spot affects other aspects of your life?

It’s probably not news to you. However, many of you may actually be unaware of how your insecurity about your hair loss and your own self consciousness about your bald spot is preventing you from achieving your goals, dreams and living the kind of life that you deserve.

Going after goals and challenges can be difficult even for the most confident of men. Can you imagine how difficult it is for someone walking around with the dark cloud of male pattern baldness over their heads?

That cloud for those of us who are experiencing hair loss is of course the insecurity about our hairlines.

Just think about all the times you’ve wanted to ask out that girl. Ask for that sale. Go for that promotion. Or simply get off the couch, turn off Netflix, put away that ice cream and go out on the town.

Perhaps you’re unusually shy at parties and social gatherings because of the insecurity about your hairline.

Eventually all these letdowns and odd attempts add up and slowly chip at your confidence. Confidence my friend is the ultimate currency. Confidence separates winners from losers. Confidence even for those with the thickest heads of hair in the world is crucial in becoming the man that you want to be.

Well, if you have a receding hairline, that can really put a dent in your armor.

You end up blaming it for all of your failures. To a certain extent you’re right and this is true, you’re receding hairline is to blame for many of your failures.

But it’s not the physical appearance of the receding hairline that is affecting your well-being and contributing to your failures. It is your inability to deal with it effectively.

The key to overcoming your insecurity about your receding hairline and your balding is to confront it head on and accept it.

You can go through all the hair loss options there are, but I guarantee you they will lead you to nothing but a depleted bank account and maybe some thin scraps of hair in the end to show for it.

So even after spending all that money and some temporary success in regrowing some of that lost hair increasing your scalp’s coverage.

But it will never be enough and it will never restore your confidence levels to where you need it to be in order to become as successful as you want.

What is an uneven hairline and is it the same as a receding hairline?

Uneven hairlines are basically genetic like male pattern baldness. However, just because you have an uneven hairline, that does not necessarily mean it’s going to recede and vice versa.

Even though it may appear that you have a receding hairline as you grow into adulthood, during this period your head also grows, your skin changes etc. So your hairline may look a little different.

However, if you have a receding hairline it will also experience all the growth and changes that your head and scalp experiences when you move into adulthood. Even if the hairline itself will be thinning.

Believe me, there’s no mistaking a receding hairline for an uneven hairline. The main difference is that an uneven hairline, although it may go back a little, it is still very thick as well as your scalp hair following it.

Can Rogaine help a receding hairline?

Rogaine is FDA approved to stop hair loss for males experiencing male pattern baldness. Though, it is FDA approved only for hair loss at the crown area of the scalp and not for a receding hairline

Therefore, there are no guarantees and the FDA clinical trials that were required to approve Rogaine to get it on the market were not conclusive enough for the FDA to approve Rogaine for frontal hairline loss. Does this mean that Rogaine does not work for regrowing hair at the hairline?

Yes or no. Some men swear by using Rogaine along with a dermal roller in helping preserve their hairlines, even if that regrowth are some lost baby hairs.

But in my opinion, it’s basically a crap shoot. You can try it, you don’t need a prescription and the cost is pretty minimal considering your ultimate goal of preserving your hairline. But I wouldn’t get my own hopes up.

Why are men so insecure about going bald and hair loss?

There are many reasons of course. First, society has drilled into the heads of its citizens on the virtues of thick hair

It’s not just our modern consumerist society that has ingrained this into us. Go back as far as recorded history and you will find everything from chicken poop and peacock urine to various combovers and golden wreaths to try to hide receding hairlines and balding.

Flash forward to nowadays, and Hollywood stars, celebrities and models covering fitness magazines etc. present the image of a thick head of hair. Which is supposed to represent health and vitality, but most of all youth.

So where does that leave us? Guys who are bald or have a receding hairline? Does that mean we’re out of the game?

If that were the case male pattern baldness would have been breeded out of the human race eons ago.

But this does mean that if you’re experiencing male pattern baldness that these are the situations and perceptions that you need to deal with

The best way to dispel a myth is to confront it head on. If there’s one thing that no man or woman for that matter is, is perfect.

Still insecure about going bald? Here’s how to compensate for baldness the right way.

We all have our weaknesses. So what do we do about those weaknesses? Best thing to do is of course to accept our weaknesses and not let them weaken us, our spirits and most of all our confidence.

We need to mitigate and downplay our weaknesses and build up our strengths. Many of you may have male pattern baldness and that may be considered a weakness.

Although most of you probably have some other virtue, maybe you have great eyes or are tall. Maybe you have a great smile and teeth. Maybe you have skin complexion to die for.

The list can go on of course.

However, maybe you’re smart and very intelligent and have the ability to make a ton of money. The list can go on even more.

So gentlemen accept your baldness, get out of denial and find your strengths and build upon them.

You can start by reading some of the posts on this website under the category of Embracing Baldness

I have dozens of posts that can help you do just that.

Find your strengths and enhance them, strengthen them and evolve into the bald handsome man that you were meant to be. Start there.

How can I hide my weird hairline?

Probably the best way to hide a weird hairline would be to style it so that your hair covers the weirder parts. This could either be done by parting your hair to one side or the other. But also by cutting your hair so that it gives you the Caesar haircut.

This haircut was made famous more recently in the mid 1990s by none other than George Clooney.

If you watch any of his episodes of ER you will see how he sported what was basically an accidental haircut into a fashion statement. There’s no reason why you can’t either.

In fact, many men have taken to just getting their haircut very short and styling it into a Caesar. This way you can determine the shape of your own hairline.

Can you have a naturally high hairline?

Actually, having a high hairline is quite natural in many men. Even in young men.

In fact, I went to high school with someone who used to part his hair in the middle. This was back when the hair parted in the middle was quite fashionable.

One day we were talking about hairstyles and during the conversation he said he couldn’t part his hair to one side or the other because he actually had quite a high hairline on the sides. He looked like he had a receding hairline and the man wasn’t even 18 yet.

But flash forward 30 years later and this guy still has a full head of hair even with a high natural hairline and I don’t. So it’s definitely possible.

How do I fix my front hairline?

The most effective way of course to fix a frontal hairline is with hair transplantation. Using the FUE or follicular unit extraction technique, hair transplant specialists can recreate a frontal hairline using grafts as small as 1 individual hair.

However, artistry and skill are of the utmost importance in performing this type of hair transplant surgery. Especially for the frontal hairline since it is the most visible of your scalp.

The frontal hairline is, after all, right above your eyes which is the first place most people look when they are looking at a person.

Needless to say that the hair transparent surgeon needs to have a bit of artistry to go along with his surgical skills in order to recreate the most natural looking hairline possible.

However, you should keep in mind that if you are a younger patient, recreating a frontal hairline lost to recession might not be such a great idea.

The reason being is that your hair may more than likely continue to recede behind it. This will make you look very, very weird and you end up shaving your head anyway.

So if you’re going to go in for this type of corrective hair restoration procedure, wait a few years.

In fact, if you see a hair transplant surgeon and he says he can get you in next week with no problems, I’d run as fast as I could away from that office.

Most of the highly reputable hair transplant surgeons will often refuse younger patients and advise them to come back in a few years when their hair loss has progressed to a point where good results are much more possible.

Still self conscious about your hairline? Then the best way to deal with it is to accept your male pattern baldness, embrace it and own it. Deal with it like a man! This is best accomplished by just shaving your head and “Come on home man!” as Charles Barkley says.
