Getting bald actually improves hair growth, fact or myth?

Getting bald can actually improve hair growth that is a fact. However, you need to draw a fine distinction between stimulating and growing hair to improving the physical growth of that hair.

Getting bald does not trigger or stimulate the hair follicles in any way to grow more hair. That is a fact.

So if you think that getting bald will stimulate hair growth, then that’s a myth. However, by shaving your head and getting bald you will provide easier access to your scalp and underlying hair follicles.

You can then apply all kinds of hair treatments much more easily and more efficiently like minoxidil, dermarolling as well as hair revitalizers and hair growth serums etc.

Shaving your head benefits hair growth, fact or myth?

As I mentioned above, shaving your head does benefit hair growth by allowing easier access to your scalp and hair follicles for any hair treatments that may promote hair growth or at the very least provide essential vitamins and nutrients that can encourage healthy growing hair.

In addition, shaving your head can benefit hair growth, if you’ve been treating your hair with various colors or dyes as well as hair treatments like perms, straighteners etc.

These usually contain harsh chemicals and when applied regularly over time, can damage hair as soon as they sprout out from the follicle.

So by shaving your head bald and giving your hair a rest from all these types of treatments, you will notice how fresh and new the untreated hair looks and feels.

You’ll be surprised at how much healthier that hair growth will be as well.

But you can truly only experience that hair growth benefit by shaving your head.

Shaving your head reduces hair loss, fact or myth?

Shaving your head does not reduce hair loss if you have male pattern baldness.

Even if you don’t have male pattern baldness, there’s no scientific evidence nor clinical studies that even suggest that shaving your head reduces hair loss.

It might seem like it would or does, if you shave your head simply because you have no more long strands of hair resting at the bottom of your drain every morning after you take a shower.

Hair falling out in the shower is very common amongst males.

How can I grow hair faster after shaving my head?

Your hair does not grow faster after shaving your head. Again there’s no scientific nor clinical studies that state shaving your head will make your hair grow faster.

However, it may seem like it does because from zero to even a quarter inch on a fully bald pate seems like a lot of hair.

Can hair grow back after balding naturally?

If you are balding for reasons other than male pattern baldness, then it is quite possible that your hair can grow back after balding naturally.

However, this is beyond the scope of not only this post, but this website.

If you believe your balding is due to something other than male pattern baldness, I would seek a consultation with a dermatologist as soon as possible for a proper evaluation and consultation about your diagnosis and your options.

Does shaving your head increase hair density?

Shaving your head does not increase your hair density. However, it does give the optical illusion of greater density.

That is because the shorter your hair is, the more full and denser it looks.

There’s less of a contrast between the strands of hair and skin when all you have is stubble or barely a faint bald shadow.

So although shaving your head does not increase your hair’s density technically, it will increase the appearance of density. This is a case of “less is more” guys.

Does hair growth improve after shaving your head?

Although shaving your head does not stimulate the hair follicles in any way to grow more hair or faster hair, shaving your head can actually make your hair healthier. How?

Well, if you use hair products on a regular basis like gels, hairsprays and thickeners or you get treatments like perms or straightening etc., these leave residues of harsh chemicals.

Even though you may get your haircut on a regular basis, it’s never short enough to totally cleanse the hair of the effects of these chemicals over a period of time.

However, when you do shave your head, it’s like you’re giving your hair a fresh start.

If you leave your hair untreated after shaving your head and let it grow in as naturally as possible, you’ll notice much more improved and healthier hair growth.

If I shave my head will it grow back different?

Shaving your head will not make it grow back any different than what it was naturally meant to be.

However, if you shave your head and you’re a young guy, it may grow back a little differently because the texture and color of a person’s hair can change as they grow older.

So if you’re used to shaving your head for a long period of time, you may find that it grows back a little differently, not only due to shaving, but due to your own genetics.

Balding could be in your DNA…

Does shaving your head make hair grow thicker?

Shaving your head does not make your hair grow back thicker. It’s an illusion and it may seem that way, but shaving your head has no influence on hair growth as far as stimulating new hair growth is concerned.

Is shaving your head good for the scalp?

Shaving your head is actually not only good for your scalp, it’s great for your scalp! Shaving your head is like an exfoliant. It scrapes away dead skin cells.

The process of shaving alone is like a mini exfoliating treatment.

However, this doesn’t mean that you should not exfoliate your shaved head, you should. But exfoliating is quite easy, it’s just a basic head scrub that takes you 2 minutes and it’ll leave you with a great looking as well as feeling shaved head in the process.

How long does it take for a shaved head to grow hair?

Hair growth whether that’s after you shave your head or in general, on average, grows about a half an inch to an inch a month.

Your hair growth may actually seem faster once you shave your head of course because you’re starting from basically zero length.

Also don’t be shocked if it doesn’t grow in as thick as you remember. If you have male pattern baldness, you really notice it not by shaving your head, but by letting it grow back afterwards. It can be very depressing.

That’s why once you shave your head, don’t ever go back to having hair because like trying to relive or revisit a special moment of the past, it’s bound to be disappointing.

Does shaving your head reduce dandruff?

Shaving your head can reduce dandruff, if you use a quality wash and if you keep your head exfoliated a couple times a week.

That along with of course using premium moisturizers and lotions.

Hopefully, you will also include with your moisturizer a sunblock for added protection. Nothing dries the skin out more than exposure to the sun and it’s UV rays.

By getting a moisturizer with an SPF included, you basically killed two birds with one stone.

In addition, if you don’t want that greasy shiny look that you may get after moisturizing your head, there are premium matte lotions which are designed to leave you with a soft and shine free or greatly reduced shaved head.

Does shaving your head change hair texture?

Shaving your head alone will not change the hair texture. Unless of course you have been using all kinds of hair products which have changed your natural hair texture.

By shaving your head and stopping the use of these hair treatments and products your hair’s texture will go back to the way it naturally is.

Shaving your head bald benefits| Improves hair growth and reduces hair loss, facts or myths summary.

As you can see there are quite a few myths, but there are also a few facts as far as the benefits of shaving your head bald in regards to improving hair growth and possibly reducing some hair loss is concerned.

My advice would be to stop worrying about your hair. Whether you’re worrying about your hair growth or hair loss the solution is to just shave your head. Problems solved.
