Dealing with bald head discoloration and uneven skin tone on bald head issues.
When I shaved my head bald for the first time I noticed some discoloration and uneven skin tone on my freshly shaved bald head and needed to do something about it.
Taking care of an uneven skin tone and bald head discoloration is something that surprisingly, many of us who shave their heads have to deal with, I know I had. So why is it that so many of us have an uneven skin tone, even discoloration on our bald heads and what can we do about it? So after quite a lot of trial and error, I finally found a few techniques as well as products that got rid of most of those bald head discoloration and uneven skin tone bald head issues, these are:
- Learning when to see a dermatologist.
- Determining the cause for the discoloration and uneven skin tone.
- Taking the right appropriate actions.
- Using the best skin care products formulated to get rid of bald head discoloration and uneven skin tone.
- Avoiding situations and preventing future bald head discoloration issues while keeping an even skin tone on my bald head.
Let’s look into what each of these could mean in your particular case and how you too can solve your own bald head discoloration and uneven skin tone issues as well.
Why does my bald head have some discoloration and uneven skin tone?
An even skin tone or discoloration on your bald head could be the result of a variety of factors. It can range from freckles, age spots, uneven sun exposure etc. to skin melanomas, vitiligo as well as many others too numerous to go through in this post.
I would like to start off this post by saying that you should see a dermatologist at least once a year for a full skin examination. This can help reduce your risks of various skin conditions as well as discover the more potential serious ones before they become a real issue.
Which bald head discoloration and uneven skin tone issues should you see a dermatologist?
Basically if you notice any skin just discolorations that you’re not quite sure about, it’s always best to check with a dermatologist.
However, if you notice any unusual dark spots or white spots for that matter, as well as raised spots on your skin, you should definitely see a dermatologist right away. It could be nothing or it could be something.
So play it better safe than sorry and see a dermatologist.
Which bald head discoloration and uneven skin tone issues could I take care of on my own?
If you have an uneven skin tone or skin discoloration on your bald head that are due to more freckling or age spots, otherwise known as sun spots, etc. then you can pretty much deal with these on your own.
You’ll be surprised at how effective some of the premium skin care products are at evening out an uneven skin tone.
What are the best products for taking care of bald head discoloration and uneven skin tone issues?
Here are the best products for taking care of that bald head discoloration and uneven skin tone. These contain a variety of ingredients which have been proven to even out uneven skin tone and fade discoloration not only on your face and your body, but on your bald head as well.
How can I prevent bald head discoloration and uneven skin tone issues?
The best way to prevent bald head discoloration and uneven skin tone is too to first follow a good bald head maintenance routine, like this one, “Bald Head Maintenance”.
Next, you want to use not only a high quality moisturizer on your head but that moisturizer should also contain a sunblock.
Many discolorations and uneven skin tone issues on a bald head could be easily solved or prevented before they become an issue by merely using some sun protection.
Quite a few of these types of issues are actually a result of over-exposure to the sun. Also, because you now shave your head, your scalp will probably be the part of your skin that is most exposed to the sun and the elements.
Therefore, it is necessary that you are aware of this and take the appropriate measures to reduce your risks. Since your head is not flat and the sun doesn’t stay in one position all day, you might get more sun exposure on certain parts of your scalp more than others.
There’s nothing wrong with a little color on the scalp as well as your face, just avoid over-exposure. Additionally, uneven exposure to the sun can create a lot of discoloration and uneven skin colour issues as well. That’s why using some sunblock is always a good idea.
Furthermore, if you are concerned about having an even and healthy skin tone, perhaps with some added color if you’re on the pale side, you should definitely look into a self tanning lotion or mousse.
Getting yourself a premium self tanner can really help give you a healthy darker skin tone without exposing your skin to any unnecessary and harmful UV rays.

Bald Head Discoloration and Uneven Skin Tone Issues on a Bald Head FAQs.
Bald head shampoo.
I would highly advise against using any type of shampoo or conditioner that’s made for hair on a bald head. Normally shampoos and conditioners contain a variety of other ingredients that are designed to make your hair look thicker.
But these may actually coat the scalp and could possibly even clog up those pores that can cause razor bumps in other scalp issues. Also, shampoos and conditioners will tend to leave a scalp looking shiny, and why shouldn’t they?
Shampoos and conditioners are normally designed to leave a person’s hair shiny and healthy looking. But many of us don’t prefer to have a shiny looking scalp.
Especially when under bright lighting or on camera for example during a video conference call via Zoom or Skype.
However, there are some excellent skin cleansers that I strongly advise you using.
There are premium skin cleansers that are formulated specifically for the face, though since the texture as well as dealing with hair producing pores are similar to the terrain of your scalp, these cleansers can give your bald head the proper cleansing it needs.
I would also caution before jumping on “bald head products” that are specifically marketed to so clean “baldheads”. It seems that they put more of their money into advertising targeting their niche and not on the ingredients.
So stick with the premium cleansers.

Dry flaky skin on a bald head.
You won’t believe it till you experience it for yourself, but shaving your head doesn’t alleviate dry skin issues. All kinds of dry skin issues can plague bald heads if you don’t take proper care if it.
Bald heads can get dandruff and flaky scalp issues just like those with full heads of hair. The reason we don’t notice dandruff and flakey skin of course is that there’s no contrasting hair for those flakes to stick to.
But that just means those with shaved heads really need to stay vigilant and keep our freshly shaved heads moisturized with high quality premium moisturizers.
Don’t worry about having a greasy or oily looking bald head either.
There are some excellent moisturizers that are designed to help sop up excess oil from your scalp, leaving your head smooth without looking greasy.
They’re called matte lotions or shine reducers.

Do bald people use shampoo?
Bald people do use shampoo. However, I truly think this is more out of a lack of knowledge of the perceived benefits of using shampoo on a bald head. My advice would be totally against using any hair care products for a bald head.
Besides, why use hair care products on your skin? Would you wash your face or your body with shampoo and finish it off with the conditioner?
Well, now your head is basically in the same boat as your face. Therefore, you should treat your bald head like your face.
There are a lot more high quality premium skincare products, cleansers, lotions etc than they are bald head skincare products.
There are baldhead skincare products however, but I have found them to be inferior when compared to the premium skin care products that are made for the face.
Do bald people get dandruff?
Yes, but bald people don’t believe they get dandruff. Dandruff is basically dry, flaky skin. In fact, all people get dandruff and people who shave their heads are much more susceptible to dandruff and dry flaky skin than those with hair.
This is because guys who shave their heads no longer have the cover of hair to help protect your scalp from the element’s, like the sun, wind, rain, etc. that can dry out the scalp
Also, hair tends to stay more moisturized by the scalp’s natural oil called sebum, which not only moisturizes their hair but also keeps a scalp moisturized as well.
However, when you shave your head that sebum no longer has hair to keep moisturized and coats the scalp with a film. This is why you often see guys who shave their heads have shiny, greasy looking heads.
The key here for those of us who shave our heads is to be able to sop up the access sebum so we don’t have that greasy shiny bald head, while keeping our scalps moisturized at the same time.
This is where a great matte lotion comes into play. I have a few posts on this website that talk about keeping your head moisturized as well as matte lotions, in addition to how to help solve dry flaky skin problems on a bald scalp.
Bald head discoloration and uneven skin tone on your bald head conclusions.
There you have it. Again, if you notice anything out of the ordinary see your dermatologist right away. In fact, making a yearly trip to the dermatologist for a full body skin exam is always a good idea as I’ve mentioned above.
I’ve also gone through the various proven products to even out an uneven skin tone and lesson skin discoloration on a bald head.
In addition, I went over ways that you can take to prevent discoloration and uneven skin tones on your bald head.
Just use common sense, take advantage of the premium skincare products available and you should have a great looking, smooth and clear bald head to show off and enjoy.
