Discovering freckles on your bald head.

After shaving my head for the first time I was surprised to find a few freckles on my bald head, and wanted to know if there was a way to smooth out my complexion overall.

One of the challenges to having a clear shaved head is having a clear complexion to match. So what do you do when you discover freckles on that bald head of yours? Well, I had the same problem and found that the best way to get rid, or at least lessen the effects, of freckles on my bald head was to not mess around wasting time on home remedies and go straight to the premium freckle/blemish removers, I haven’t looked back since. Let’s look into what that means and what you could do about those freckles on your bald head as well.

What do freckles on a bald head look like?

Freckles on a bald head look like freckles on other parts of the body, including the face. They’re usually quite tiny, dark and look like little dots.

However, those tiny dots could also be a little bigger than simply dots, especially with increased exposure to the sun. Here are some images of what freckles look like.

Why does my bald head get freckles?

Your bald head can get freckles for a variety of reasons. These can include hereditary. If your parents are normally prone to getting freckles, you will also be more than likely prone to freckles too.

Additionally, genetics play a role in your bald head getting freckles too. Then there is your own particular complexion.

Normally, especially fair complected individuals are more prone to freckling. That’s where the image of the “red headed freckle faced kid” comes from.

Even those with darker complexions who don’t necessarily have pale skin can get freckles too. Perhaps somewhere in their genetic tree they had grandparents or great-grandparents who were extremely pale, fair skinned and freckled.

You can have a parent with a very dark complexion but, have a grandparent who has a very pale complexion with freckles and get freckles yourself.

Finally, the more exposure you have to the sun, the more prone you are to freckling, especially if you shave your head. It’s no secret that fair complected individuals exposed to the sun actually get more freckles.

Are freckles on my bald head a sign of something more serious?

Any skin discoloration, whether that be on your bald head, your face or any other part of your body could mean a number of things, freckles are just one of them.

You should always get examined by a dermatologist once a year to check for any hard skin discoloration or other skin spots.

This is especially true if you like spending more time out in the sun or like having a year around tan, which is caused either by laying out in the sun, live in a warmer climate or even frequent tanning salons.

Speaking of tanning, If you would really like that 10 without the freckling, you can go for a premium self-tanner. Premium self tanners can help you avoid the sun, but get you that all year long benefits of a healthy looking tan. But I digress.

Any spots on your skin could mean a number of things. However, freckles are usually the most common cause and can also vary in size.

But they are always flat and darker in color calling it looks like tiny little dots.

Although there are other spots that look like freckles, only a little bigger and generally flat as well. But these are often referred to as sun spots or the less flattering term, age spots.

These “age spots” usually come with “age” and an increased exposure to the sun.

Blemish removers can also even out age spots, which is why they are so sought after and popular.

How do I get rid of those freckles on my bald head?

The best way to get rid of freckles on a bald head is to limit your exposure to the sun. That’s the obvious safest way to get rid of freckles on a bald head.

If you can’t avoid the sun, then the next best way to get rid of freckles and to lessen their appearance is to simply use a sunblock or some kind of sun protection.

Any man who shaves his head should use not only lotion to keep his head smooth and looking great, but also should put on some sunblock after shaving.

Don’t worry, you don’t have to come out of the house looking like a greasy mess either. You don’t need to have that greasy bald head look to keep your head moisturized, protected from the sun as well as looking great.

There are some premium moisturizer lotions out there and some of these come with sun protection as well.

With these premium lotions, you can kill 3 birds with one stone.

Freckles on a bald head FAQs.

What causes freckles to suddenly appear?

The usual suspect of what causes freckles to suddenly appear is of course exposure to the sun. The fairer you are, the more likely you are to have freckles breakout.

If you already have freckles, an increase in exposure to the sun will give you even more freckles.

Speaking of bald heads and freckles, it’s also one of the reasons why many men quickly notice their freckles after shaving their heads.

This is because once they shave their heads they have much more skin exposure to the sun which can either tan your skin, create freckles or both.

Can freckles be removed permanently?

There are many excellent treatments that can remove freckles from your face and bald head that range from Topical fading creams, Retinoid creams and Chemical peels. To Laser treatment and even Cryosurgery. None of them can guarantee permanent removal.

Your skiing is a living, breathing organism that is constantly growing and renewing itself.

These procedures and treatment can’t prevent your new skin cells from freckling or getting age spots as well.

The best that you should hope for is that your freckles and age spots to either disappear completely or fade substantially, but your treatments will need to continue if you want to keep your skin blemish free or greatly reduced.

Is laser treatment for freckles effective?

Laser treatment for the removal of freckles can be very effective if evaluated and performed by a dermatologist specializing in laser treatments.

However, during your evaluation your dermatologist will also make you aware of the potential risks and side effects along with any preparations you need to make on your part to have a successful outcome.

What home remedy gets rid of freckles?

Although I do not recommend any home remedies in this post simply because of its trial and error nature. I have also found they also don’t work in addition to playing funny games with my skin.

In general, I’ve found home remedies to be a complete waste of time with few exceptions, none of which help with freckles. I will list several home remedies that claim to get rid of freckles here. These include:

  • Apple Cider Vinegar (of course)
  • Yogurt
  • Lemon juice
  • Buttermilk
  • Honey
  • Onions
  • Sour cream
  • Aloe Vera

You can check them out for yourself.

Why am I getting more freckles as I get older?

As always with different aspects of aging, you can also get more freckles as you get older because of your DNA and genetic makeup.

In addition, what may be confused with freckles can actually be age spots, otherwise called sunspots. Age spots are normally bigger than freckles, but they’re flat and in general, harmless.

If you even suspect these spots might be caused by any other issues, see your dermatologist right away for a proper skin examination.

Getting thorough skin exams should be done at least once a year anyway, especially if you live in a warmer climates.

Do freckles go away with age?

Some childhood freckling may actually go away as you get older as sometimes skin pigments do change with age.

However, age spots may soon replace those freckles, so that can also become a new skin issue you’ll have to deal with.

Are freckles genetic?

Freckles can definitely “run in the family”. In fact here’s an interesting article, “Researchers identify genomic variant associated with sun sensitivity, freckles”.

It talks about how a certain hereditary gene strongly associated with sensitivity to the sun, brown hair, blue eyes and freckles can be passed down and how it affects your skin’s pigmentation.

When should I worry about freckles?

In general, freckles are inherited down through your family tree and they are a normal part of someone’s looks and features, like eye and hair color etc.

However, it never hurts to have yourself checked out by a dermatologist who can give your skin a full and proper evaluation.

If you think the spots are abnormal looking, bigger or aren’t flat but bumpy, then you should have yourself checked out immediately.

Can you have freckles if your parents don’t?

Yes, you can. You could have a grandparent or even great grandparent somewhere down the line who was very fair skinned and prone to freckling.

Freckles on your bald head? Yes, you do have options.

As you can see, if you find freckles on your bald head or anywhere on your skin for that matter and you want to smooth out your complexion, or at the very least, fade those blemishes, freckles and age spots into a more or even complexion and appearance then you do have options.

In my opinion, if you just have normal freckling or even age spots and you don’t suspect they are any more than that, then you can find everything you need to get rid of, or at least fade, those freckles and age spots into a more or even complexion.

I have given you in my opinion, the best products for you to do so above.

I’ve also listed some home remedies that you can try out for yourself. But as I had mentioned at the beginning of this post, I wouldn’t bother wasting my time with them.

Why should you when you have premium products that are specifically designed to fade and remove freckles and age spots from your skin.

This way you don’t have to experiment with home remedies to see which one may or may not work for you.

Your skin deserves only the very best. This includes the skin on the top of your bald head.
